The “Monodzukuri Nippon Grand Awards” honor persons of talent and excellence involved in "manufacturing,"
including mid-career persons of talent who play a central role in manufacturing and production sites,
skilled people who have supported traditional and cultural “techniques,” and young human resources who will be responsible for the future.
This being the 8th time, this award has been held every other year since 2005 in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry,
the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
The monitoring support system “Nemuri SCAN” can display sleep, waking up, sitting up, getting out of bed, etc. in real time on a terminal,
using a non-wearable sensor laid under a mattress or futon, that detects body movements.
The status of all elderly care recipients can be displayed in real time on the monitor in the staff room, and their quality of sleep can also be displayed and recorded,
making it possible to confirm and improve intervention effects, and share them among staff. In addition to improving the QOL of long-term care recipients,
“Nemuri SCAN” was selected to receive the METI Minister’s Prize for its contribution to improving staff fatigue and retention.
