Impeccable quality assurance from design to manufacturing

Our response to customer trust is an impeccable quality assurance system. We obtained international quality assurance system certifications, ISO 9001 in May 1999, and ISO 13485 in November 2006. Those certificates cover production aspects ranging from design to manufacturing. Paramount Bed's "Product Safety Declaration" sets down stringent evaluation standards and operational procedures to ensure product safety and quality. This commitment to quality assurance is underscored in our credo: "We all play a part in providing a level of quality that customers will esteem."

Actively promoting product safety

Our products are used in sensitive environments at hospitals and nursing-care facilities. Making safe and reliable products is therefore uppermost in our thoughts. In addition to in-house efforts to improve product safety and quality, we vigorously engage in product safety promotion activities as a member of the Safety Promotion Council for Medical and Homecare Beds*. Through these activities, we gain valuable insight into the needs and demands arising at hospitals and nursing-care facilities. These findings are then used to create even safer and more reliable products.

* The Safety Promotion Council for Medical and Homecare Beds was established to improve safety, to thoroughly educate people in correct usage, and to create an environment in which providers and recipients can use these beds with confidence and peace of mind.

Total production approach for Total Quality Control (TQC)

From raw materials to final products, we manufacture our products with consistent TQC.

We produce high-quality, reliable, safe products effectively by continuous production organization from manufacturing to assembling materials, based on strict quality control. Additionally, we take all possible measures to check finished products in order to deliver high-quality and reliable products to our customers. We have received ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certification. In addition, we manufacture our products according to QSR (Quality System Regulation) standards of Japanese Pharmaceutical Affairs Law and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Integrated product line completed at our Chiba Plant, aiming for more efficient production

The Company consolidated the functions of the Ohira Plant, one of the three plants in Chiba Prefecture (Chiba, Ohira, and Matsuo Plants), and installed an integrated production line based on the synchronous/tuned production method at the Chiba Plant. Regular operation started in May 2008.

The previous production method required five days from welding to the completion of assembly, as the different stages of the products were made in advance and kept stored together for one day between each of the three processes of welding, painting, and assembly. All the processes of the newly introduced synchronous production line ? which does not make any products in advance or store them together between processes ? can complete construction of beds for medical and elder-care facilities in about six hours. Under the reorganization plan, aimed at facilitating production, we launched the integrated product line project in July 2006 and started making improvements in June of the following year. The new production line was recently completed and started regular operations.

Realizing unrivaled quality through our original manufacturing technology

Advanced coating technology for hygienic and durable beds

Our production policy of taking into account changes over time led Paramount Bed to become one of the first companies to use electro-deposition coating and powder coating on beds. Ahead of any other bed maker, we introduced to the industry a large electro-deposition coating machine, which enhanced durability through consistent coating of complex parts. Powder coating lays down a thick layer that resists scratches and chemicals for greater durability. By employing electro-deposition and powder coating separately or together, we have significantly enhanced the durability and aesthetics of the finish. The result is a long-lasting, pristine coating that prevents rusting even under tough usage and rigorous daily cleaning. Long product life assures that providers, caregivers, and recipients will better appreciate the quality of our beds.

Exceptional plastic molding technology

Advances in moulding for high-quality board design.

As a general rule, hospital bed and ward equipment must be extremely sturdy to withstand the demanding conditions of the medical environment. Design features must ensure durability, mobility, and cleaning ease, as well as patient comfort. Consequently, board molding is particularly important to give equipment an attractive appearance and also allow easy transportation.

Our longtime efforts to refine plastic molding technology have led to significant advances in molding techniques for producing higher-quality headboards and footboards. By adopting the latest equipment for blow molding and making full use of our accumulated expertise, we are able to produce high-quality board that answers customer requirements for color, design, light weight, and more.

Our Vision and Goal

Putting our ideals into practice while pursuing production
with consideration for the global environment

As a global health manufacturer, we seek to manufacture products while also serving the needs of the global environment. In our new Chiba factory, we have discontinued use of solvent paint using VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds), reduced 60% of our industrial waste by changing painting chemicals, and lowered electricity use by 30% in our new painting facilities (compared with conventional facilities). In addition, we are promoting recycling by collecting our used beds. We plan further improvements in production technology, aiming to reach our global environmental goals in the future.
