Our History

Founded

1947 May Ryusuke Kimura founds Kimura Shindai Seisakujo, Ltd., as a private enterprise and starts manufacturing hospital beds.

1950s

1950 May Kimura Shindai Industry Co., Ltd., is established with capital of 200,000 yen. Paramount Bed is adopted as the brand name. Gatch Bed Edogawa Plant
1953 May Edogawa plant is built.
1955 July Gatch bed is developed for hospitals.

1960s

1961 May Head office is moved to current location. KA-45
1962 Apr. KA-45 is the first electric bed developed and sold in Japan.
1966 Mar. Kyushu sales office is set up (now the Fukuoka branch).
May Chiba plant is built.

1970s

1970 Feb. Matsuo plant is built, absorbing the Edogawa plant operation. KA-500
1971 Feb. Osaka branch is set up.
1972 Jan. KA-500 and KA-600 Series is launched as another hospital model.
1977 Sep. Hiroshima and Nagoya sales offices are set up (now the Hiroshima and Nagoya branches).

1980s

1980 June Scot-klean is launched as an automatic urine receptacle. KQ-100
1983 Dec. KQ-100 (Aura electric bed) is launched as a homecare bed.
1986 July The Company absorbs Paramount Sendai Co., Ltd. (now the Sendai branch) and Paramount Sapporo Co., Ltd. (now the Sapporo branch).
1987 Mar. Corporate name is changed to Paramount Bed Co., Ltd.
Dec. Company shares are listed on the JASDAQ market.
1988 Nov. Paracare Mattress, made from new material, is developed and sold.

1990s

1990 Oct. Hestia Series is launched as senior-care facility beds. Hestia Series

KA-6000 Series
1991 Apr. Ryusuke Kimura and Kenji Kimura become Chairman and President, respectively.
1992 Jan. KA-900 Series is developed and marketed as intelligent IC beds.
May Yokohama branch is set up.
1993 Oct. Rakusho Series is launched as another homecare model.
Dec. Company shares are listed on the Second Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
1995 Sep. PT. Paramount Bed Indonesia is set up as an overseas subsidiary.
1996 May Takamatsu branch is set up.
Sep. Company shares are listed on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
1997 Apr. Kyma Aura Bed Series is launched as another homecare model.
Oct. Customer Service Center is established.
1998 Oct. KA-6000 Series is launched as another hospital model.
1999 Apr. New Scot-klean is redeveloped and sold as an automatic urine receptacle.
May ISO9001 certification.
Oct. Aura 21 Series is launched as another homecare model.

2000s

2000 Feb. Club Paramount Series is developed and marketed as highly functional family beds. Club Paramount Series

Oct. Saitama branch is set up.
2001 Feb. Callisto Series is launched as another senior-care facility model.
Oct. Nagoya branch relocates to a newly built office.
2002 Jan. Shanghai representative office is set up.
July Para Techno Co., Ltd., is set up as a consolidated subsidiary.
2003 May INTIME is brought out as a stylish new brand providing sound sleep for better health.
July Paramount Universal Design Station (PUDS) is created.
Nov. Rakusho Series is developed and marketed as an especially pleasant homecare model.
2004 Mar. Paramount Bed (China) Co., Ltd., is set up as a consolidated subsidiary.
2005 Sep. Rakusho Series "bed with ability enhancements" is launched as a senior-care model.
2006 Mar. At Head Office, construction of the Technical Center is completed.
Nov. ISO13485 certification.
Dec. Paramount Bed Co., Ltd. merges with Corbon Holding S.A.S., France.
2008 May Integrated production line is completed at the Chiba Plant, aiming for more efficient production.
